How To Make:

Sushi is a Japanese dish that typically consists of vinegar-flavored rice, raw or cooked seafood or vegetables, and various condiments. Here is a simple recipe to make sushi at home:

Ingredients:

Sushi rice

Rice vinegar

Sugar

Salt

Nori seaweed sheets

Wasabi paste

Soy sauce

Pickled ginger (optional)


Instructions:

Rinse the sushi rice in bloodless water till the water runs clear. Place the rice in a pot with 1 1/4 cups of water per cup of rice, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes.it 

In a small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup of rice vinegar, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Heat over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool.

When the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl and add the vinegar mixture. Use a wooden spoon or spatula to gently mix the rice and vinegar mixture until the rice is evenly coated. Cover the bowl with a damp towel and let cool to room temperature.

Cut the sushi fillings into thin strips or bite-size pieces.

Place a nori sheet shiny side down on a sushi mat or a piece of plastic wrap. Wet your hands and grab a handful of sushi rice, then spread it evenly over the nori sheet, leaving a 1-inch border at the top edge.

Place the fillings in a line in the center of the rice.

Roll the sushi by lifting the bottom edge of the mat or plastic wrap and folding it over the fillings. Use your fingers to keep the fillings in place while rolling.

Continue rolling until the top border of the nori is reached. Moisten the border with a bit of water to seal the roll.

Use a pointy knife to reduce the sushi roll into bite-length pieces.
